Barn History The Cullman Stockyard was started at the present location in 1954. The founders are Keith and Helen Parrish. They are Cullman County residences. The Stockyard is located in Alabama, county of Cullman, city of Cullman. It is positioned half way between Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama on Interstate Hiway 65. The Stockyard is on 15 acres of land next to highway 157. The pens are all under roof. We do have an overflow lot in the event of large runs. The Stockyard has 3, 18 wheeler load outs and 1 deck out ramp. There is a drive through for trailer loading and unloading. The barn is also equipped with one backup ramp to load and unload. The vet house is under roof and located on the west side of barn mid way. The pens have clean clear water. Hay pens are available for those animals who need hay and water. This Stockyard is laid out to handle 18 hundred to 2 thousand animals. Our present record is 2597 head that took 14 hours to sell. A restaurant is on site for the convenience of buyers, sellers and visitors. It opens at 7 o'clock AM and will close after the sale is over. The Stockyard on sale day requires aprox. 52 employees which includes both full time and part time employees. We run 48 sales per year. There are no sales on the week of July the 4, the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas and New Year's.
